Product Specification

PNLC Reverse Dimming Smart Film

Reverse phase technology engineered for ultimate clarity. Completely transparent when powered OFF, and frosted opaque when powered ON. Ideal for spaces requiring long-term transparency and energy efficiency.

Reverse Phase Tech

Defaults to clear without power. Applies 100V voltage to become frosted, minimizing energy use for normally-open views.

86% Transmittance

Achieves up to 86% light transmittance with less than 4% haze in its natural transparent state.

UV & IR Insulation

Isolates up to 99.9% of harmful UV rays and 80% of infrared heat, protecting interior furniture and saving AC energy.

1450mm Max Width

Supplied in continuous rolls up to 1450mm wide. Custom lengths available up to 50m per roll.

How PNLC Technology Works

PNLC (Polymer Network Liquid Crystal) reverses the standard PDLC mechanism by utilizing a specialized phase distribution layer:

  • Power OFF = Transparent (Default State)When power is off, the liquid crystal molecules are arranged in an orderly manner under the guidance of the phase distribution layer. Parallel light passes through seamlessly, rendering the film clear (86% transmittance).
  • Power ON = Opaque (Privacy State)When 100V power is applied, the electric field causes the molecular arrangement to become chaotic. Light is strongly scattered, turning the film instantly frosted/opaque to protect your privacy.
